The Sherman Room: Local History and Genealogy

The John Sherman Room houses the Library’s collection of genealogical resources as well as Mansfield, Richland County, and Ohio historical materials.

Sherman Room Hours

While none of the items in the Sherman Room may be checked-out, they are available to the public the following times:

Monday- 9 AM – 8 PM                                                                                                                                                                                          Tuesday- Thursday 9 – 5 PM
Friday-Sunday — CLOSED

Additional hours may be available by appointment. Please call the  Sherman Room for assistance at 419-521-3115.

To request assistance or microfilm/obituary copies, researchers may call, email, or send their request through the mail. 

To order by mail, send a business-sized self addressed, stamped envelope to the Sherman Room. Enclose your home phone or email address in case of difficulty with your order. 

Emailed documents will be scanned and sent as a PDF file. There is no charge for this service.
