About This Location

The Butler branch of MRCPL is located in Southeast Richland County and services the community of Butler, the rural area surrounding it, and the Clear Fork School District. We work closely with the Butler Elementary school and each elementary class visits the library at least once a month. We also facilitate a High School Book Club at Clear Fork High School, a joint venture with the Bellville Branch Library, as well as other activities throughout the year. The Butler branch also hosts the Bromfield Book Club, which is a partnership with the Lucas and Bellville Libraries. We also work with other community organizations, including the Butler Area Merchants’ Association to provide a variety of outreach activities within the community.

Taphath, Butler children's department

About Our Children's Department

As the children’s librarian, I offer fun and exciting programs for children of all ages. I like to encourage the children’s creativity and learning through activities and crafts. I also enjoy interacting with the children both at Butler Elementary, or when they come in on their own to find something interesting to do.
