Are you an experienced library leader who excels at balancing the granular focus of running a department with attention to high-level strategy? We are seeking a Circulation Services Coordinator to join our team and work with library leadership to shape the user experience for our entire community, acting as a key advisor to library administration when services and loan policies are being considered. This position plays a key role in: recommending and shaping policies to ensure that service evolves with the needs of our customers; designing and implementing circulation procedures and training programs for public service staff across the entire system; partnering with fellow Coordinators to identify, refine, and launch new initiatives that streamline how our community accesses resources; and managing the operations and activities of the Circulation Department, supervising a large team of public service clerks. Our ideal candidate has a proven track record of leadership, showing creativity, initiative, and a future-focus. They demonstrate strong attention to detail, a systems mindset, and strong communication skills. They strive to lead by example and have a coaching management style. Our Media Services Clerks love helping library customers and are excellent multitaskers, able to shift focus between many tasks throughout the day. Media Services Clerks need to be skilled in customer service, creative problem-solving, time management, and should have sound judgment. We are looking for a strong communicator who is eager to connect with customers, helping them take advantage of the wide range of items available in the Media Department. This person will spend the day managing the flow of materials in and out of the department, meeting a wide variety of customer needs, and doing a few specialized tasks and projects that keep the collection looking great and easy to use.
