Teacher Cards

Teachers who live or work in Ohio are eligible for a teacher card which allows extended checkout and certain privileges.

Get an eCard

To be Eligible for a Teacher Card:

  • You must live or teach in a school in the state of Ohio
  • You must have a valid M/RCPL Library Card
  • Your Library Card must be in good standing

*Student Teachers, Substitute Teachers, Preschool Teachers, Daycare Providers and Homeschool parents/guardians who reside in Ohio also qualify for a Teacher Card.

To Apply for a Teacher Card:

  • Bring your school ID, pay stub, or proof that you work at a school
  • Bring your M/RCPL Library Card
  • Bring two forms of identification, one with your current address, if you do not have a valid M/RCPL Library Card
    Homeschool applicants must show proof of homeschooling (e.g. Homeschooling recognition letter from School Superintendent)
Items Available for 9 Week Checkout

  • Books- No limit
  • Music CDs-Limit 15
  • Audiobooks-Limit 15

Items Available for 4 Week Checkout

  • Informational and older Entertainment DVDs (7-day)
  • Blu-ray (7-day)

These are available with no renewals.

Items Not Available with a Teacher Card

  • 14 day Books
  • 14 day Audiobooks
  • Binge Boxes
  • Great Course DVDs
  • Items from the Library of Things
  • Launchpads
  • Magazines
  • New DVDs
  • New Blu-rays
  • Roku Streaming Devices
  • Speed Readers
  • Video Games
  • Wi-Fi Hotspots
  • Any item requiring a Borrower Agreement
    SearchOhio & OhioLINK items

All items checked out on a Teacher Card are fine free. The replacement fee for up to two items per school year will be waived.
