Newspapers and Magazines

Popular magazines are available at all locations. Over 250 titles are available at the Main Library. Approximately 20 newspapers are available at the Main Library. See all of our magazine and newspaper information here

Information and assistance is available in person or by telephone at all library locations. The Main Library houses a wide range of reference materials, and may also be contacted by email at reference@mrcpl.org . 

Consumer Information

Library books and magazines carry product reviews, health information, used car prices and many other resources for smart shopping.

Reader's Advisory

Library staff is trained to help customers find just the right book for leisure reading.

Learning Lab

Microsoft Office Products, the Internet and a selection of educational software for children and adults are available in the lab. Assistance is offered during library hours and individual training is scheduled by appointment. Computer related workshops are presented on an ongoing basis. Find out more here.

Materials not owned by this library system can be obtained through a statewide network of 40+ libraries and 100+ public universities,  community/technical colleges, private colleges and the State Library of Ohio. This service takes place through Search Ohio, a consortium of public libraries throughout the state or OhioLINK, a consortium of Ohio’s college and university libraries and the State Library of Ohio. The service is free, and items are usually delivered to the library location of your choice within a few days. Find out more here

Reference Databases

The Main Library purchases subscriptions to online reference databases on a wide variety of topics. See all of our research databases here.

Career and College Information

Ohio and national college catalogs, guides to colleges, career information aids and career guidance materials are available at the Main Library.

John Sherman Room

The Main Library houses local and Ohio history collections and genealogical sources in the John Sherman Room. High school yearbooks, nineteenth century city directories, cemetery and military service records are also available. Learn more about this room here.

Notary Service

 Free notary services are available for individuals at the Main Library from 9-5 Monday-Thursday, and on Friday from 9-4. Evenings and Saturdays may be accommodated by appointment. Learn more about this service here.
