Lower the overdue fines on your card while helping us supply local food banks!
From May 14 – May 19, 2018 customers with fines on their Library card, for overdue items, may bring in up to 25 non-perishable food items and reduce their fines up to $25.00! Each food item donated will equal $1.00 taken off of fines. All food donations will be given to food banks that serve the community of that Library location.
What is "Food for Fines"?
Food for fines is a special event the Library is holding during the week of May 14 - May 19, 2018. During this week, Library customers can bring in non-perishable food items and have up to $25 taken off of any overdue fines on their card. The Library will be taking all donated items to local food pantries in each Library Branch community.
How much can get waived?
Each valid donated item will receive $1 credit toward the card holder’s late fines, up to $25.
What fines can be forgiven?
Non-perishable food items may be used for MRCPL accounts with existing overdue fines. Only overdue fines are eligible for this program.
Which fines/fees cannot be forgiven?
Not valid towards damaged, lost, collection fees or accounts that are in RBC. Donated items cannot be given towards future fines that are not currently on the library card.

Mansfield: Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, VOA and, Harmony House
Bellville: Bellville Neighborhood Outreach Center (BNOC)
Butler: Butler Adult Nutrition Center
Crestview: Faith United Methodist Church (The Outlet)
Lexington: New Liberty Baptist Church
Lucas: Lucas Area Ministerial Association (Community Center)
Madison: Ridgeway First Church of God
Ontario: Grace Episcopal Church
Plymouth: Plymouth/Shiloh Food Pantry in Shiloh
What can I donate?
Only non-perishable foods.

Peanut Butter Canned Fruit
Canned Soup Pasta
Canned Vegetables Canned Tomato Products
Canned Beef Stew Canned Tuna Fish/Chicken
**Foods must be in store-sealed boxes or cans.
**No expired, damaged or glass items will be accepted. No non-nutritional beverages, candy, perishable, or home-made items will be accepted.
