We can put together lists of materials on a particular topic for groups. Contact the Children's Department at 419-521-3130 or your local branch at least one month in advance to request a book list.
These hands-on, interactive kits are available for check out. Each kit includes a variety of books, educational DVDs, music CDs, games, activities, and hands-on fun! Here are the kits currently available.
3 Books Cards
Ask about a 3 Books Card for students under the age of 18.
Teachers who live or work in Ohio are eligible for a teacher card which allows extended checkout and certain privileges.
Programs for Students
These enrichment programs will enhance your students’ understanding of lessons taught in the classroom. Call your local library at least three weeks in advance to schedule a program.
Booktalks: Get your students excited about reading with booktalks from a selection of books on a theme of your choice.
Library Orientation: Discover the resources available at the library and learn how to find them with a guided tour and introduction.
Class Research Projects: Bring your class to the Library to research those special projects via the library's electronic resources.
The library has several research databases available on our web site that can be used to find valid resources for assignments or lesson plans right from school or home. Information from magazines, journals, newspapers, reference books, and even test prep sources can be found. You will need your library card number to access these databases.
Call your local library one week in advance to request a selection of books to check out for your classroom. Seasonal items may be limited due to popular demand. Also ask us about delivery services!
