Children’s Book Review: Bats After Dark

Bats After Dark by Ruth O’Shaughnessy
From Miss Rachel at Butler and Lucas Branches

Do you like bats? Many people are scared of them; incorrect information makes people scared, but these little flying mammals are actually harmless. Flying outside around dusk, bats search for insects to fill their bellies up. They want nothing to do with humans, and Bats After Dark educates us on other activities these animals enjoy. This small book is packed with accurate information and fun facts all about bats.

Each page is filled with up-close photos to see bats in action. Did you know that bats are the only winged mammal? Even the cute Malayan flying fox (which is big!) is harmless. The photo of him with his giant wings wrapped around his body is impressive. Learn more about bats today!

The library has many bats books available.
