The Pollinators documentary will take you across the U.S. as a group of beekeepers transports hundreds of hives to almond orchards in California and to blueberry patches in Maine. It highlights the plight of the honey bee from the chemicals used on farms to a parasitic mite brought over from Asia. In spite of the great losses of this essential insect to our food resources, great strides are being made in making a better environment for all pollinators as some farmers are taking a second look at what chemicals they use and how they plant their fields. There are hopes that maybe the tide is turning for our bees, but this film makes it evident that constant vigilance needs to be maintained and that everyone can help in their own small way. This was a very eye-opening documentary and highly recommended.
