Matt Green’s goal is to walk every street in New York City. That’s about 8,500 miles on $15 a day. He left his Civil Engineering job 6 years ago and house and cat-sits to meet his budget.
He talks to people on the street, visits barbershops, finds long-forgotten historical sites and treasures of Staten Island’s forest.
“Walking puts me in touch with my humanity and other’s humanity like nothing else does” says Matt. His photography and well researched documentation is shared on a blog.
The poet in him finds hidden stories all over the place. What he shares is both touching and profound: the heart, soul and pulse of the city. There is “freedom to be found… in simply taking a walk”.
