Book Review: Love from Sesame Street

March 08, 2019

Love from Sesame Street by Craig Manning
from Miss Rachel at Butler and Lucas Branches

Love from Sesame Street is a beautiful book celebrating love and teaching children about the different ways they can experience and express love. Generations have grown up with Sesame Street; why not continue it with the young children in your life?

Each page is brightly illustrated with fun lettering that even babies will enjoy. Although the illustrations are childish, they deftly express what love means to each character. With very little text on each page, older children will have fun reading along, and younger children can identify colors and numbers. While learning about all the forms that love can take, we go on a journey to discover that love can be giggles or a sunny day! Cozy and silly, each turn of the page shows the reader a new way to love. Parents are always looking for ways to teach their children about kindness, and this book can help.  All of the characters are expressing what they love, while also teaching about friendship and teamwork.

Sesame Street has entertained kids for 50 years, and it shows in this book! I enjoyed the warmth from the characters, and I can imagine a child loving Mr. Snuffleupagus and smiling when they see how he feels about Big Bird or laughing at what Oscar the Grouch thinks about his dirty living situation.

Share this wonderful book with a child, and let your little ones see how easy it is to love!
