Libby is a free app that lets library users instantly borrow ebooks and eaudiobooks. There aren’t any late fees because items are automatically returned and removed from your device once your lending period is over. Ebooks and eaudiobooks are checked out for 21 days. It is easy to download the app in the App Store and Google Play Store.
Library users need their library card number and their PIN to access Libby. If you don’t know your PIN you can call your local library to reset it. Also, if you need help using Libby stop by your local library and a librarian will gladly assist you.
The app lets users download items to their devices so they can use them later if Wi-Fi is unavailable. For example, you can download an ebook to your tablet then read it later on a long road trip. Mansfield/Richland County Public Library users get to borrow ten items at a time through Libby.
Libby spotlights genres and series or other topics like mysteries, Magic Tree House books, music memoirs, autumn reads for kids, books like Dog Man, new stuff, day at the circus, trending now, Caldecott Medal and honor books, beginning readers, fractured fairy tales, STEM for kids, and more.
Under preference in Libby, users are able to change format, language, audience, availability and sort search results by things like relevance, popularity, release date, date added, author and title. Parents and educators can even change preferences to just include juvenile items. Wow, Libby has a lot to offer!
