The Games of Night
by Eric Thomas Brumbaugh, 10th Grade
Dawn to dusk,
I sit; I watch.
Like fire through brush they move.
High upon my perch I grin.
When night comes,
the games begin.
They know not what I am,
But what I leave in my wake.
They call me Death.
But it’s only a game I play.
If you lose, your soul is mine.
Play my games if you dare,
for I never lose and never will.
If you’re in these woods when the moon is up,
you best run
for I have already found you.
And the games have begun!
