The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation. The Pox Party: Taken from Accounts by [Octavius Nothing's] Ow
By teen lib
Octavian grows up in an unusual household of radical philosophers in Boston in the eighteenth century. He receives the finest classical education available. But only as he grows older does he realize that he and his mother, an African princess, are actually being held captive. He is well dressed, well fed, and well educated all as part of an elaborate experiment to determine the intellectual acuity of Africans. Slowly through a friendship with a household slave named Pro Bono, Octavian learns of the reality that exists beyond the four walls of the mansion in which he and his mother are held prisoners.
