Peak by Roland Smith
By teen lib
Since Peak, P-E-A-K, lives in Manhattan and there aren’t a lot of mountains available for scaling, he climbs the next best thing, skyscrapers. But who knew you could get into so much trouble, just for climbing skyscrapers? The judge wants to sentence Peak to juvenile detention for 3 years! But even more shocking than the possibility of the 3 year jail term is the fact that Peak’s father, Joshua Wood the greatest mountaineer in the world, arrives in time for Peak’s trial. Mr. Wood convinces the judge that the best course of action would be for Peak to fly out of the country—today—now to be exact. If Peak is gone, the story and media coverage dies. But Peak might be going from the frying pan into the fire, because his final destination, according to his father, is the top of Mount Everest.
