‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the Ghandi before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a tiger was stirring, not even a mouse.

The Santa’s were coughing all snug in their beds,
While visions of peas danced in their heads.

Then out on the forest there arose such a clatter,
I laughed from the couch to see what was the matter.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature Rudolph, and 44 funny reindeer!

With a silly old pole-vaulter so quickly and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Alan Alda galloped with a bound.

He spoke not a pfftt, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the candy canes; then watched with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the living room he rose.

And I heard him run,
ere he baked out of sight,

“Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night!”

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a mouse was stirring, not even a mouse.

The cars were driving all snug in their beds,
While visions of green beans danced in their heads.

Then out on the golf course there arose such a clatter,
I ran from the ottoman to see what was the matter.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature house, and 44 hairy reindeer!

With a smokey old wrestler so quickly and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Harrison Ford jumped with a bound.

He spoke not a Auuughhhhh, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the sheets; then shouted with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the garage he rose.

And I heard him ride,
ere he waved out of sight,

“Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night!”
