‘Twas the Morning Before Christmas

‘Twas the mom before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a rabbit was stirring, not even a mouse.

The houses were swimming all snug in their beds,
While visions of American cheese danced in their heads.

Then out on the park there arose such a clatter,
I flew from the shelf to see what was the matter.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature doll, and 11 fluffy reindeer!

With a small old swimmer so messy and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Santa yelled with a bound.

He spoke not a Rudolph, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the antlers; then skipped with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the basement he rose.

And I heard him fly,
ere he swam out of sight,

“Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night!”

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the Santa Claus before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a buffalo was stirring, not even a mouse.

The soccer balls were running all snug in their beds,
While visions of broccoli danced in their heads.

Then out on the beach there arose such a clatter,
I jumped from the couch to see what was the matter.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature Kamryn, and sixteen pink reindeer!

With an awesome old soccer player, so fast and quick,
I knew in a moment it was be St. Nick.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Zach Efron ran with a bound.

He spoke not an oink-oink, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the buildings; then sat up with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.

And I heard him call,
ere he saw out of sight,

“Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night!”

--Kamryn, Plymouth Branch, 10th Grade
