'Twas the _____ Before Christmas Contest

By teen lib

All this month at any Mansfield/Richland County Public Library location, you can enter the 'Twas the ____ Before Christmas Contest. All you need to do is provide the words we ask for on the entry form, and we will do the rest. Your words will be integrated into the famous 'Twas the Night Before Christmas" poem Madlibs-style. And of course, one lucky winner will receive gift certificates to Cinemark in a drawing at the end of the contest. Check out these entries for some examples.

'Twas the ____ Before Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a tiger was stirring, not even a mouse.

The sisters were fighting all snug in their beds,
While visions of fruitcakes danced in their heads.

Then out on the forest there arose such a clatter,
I fought from the chair to see what was the matter.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature mother, and seven bloody reindeer!

With a bright old karate master, so quickly and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Johnny Depp ran with a bound.

He spoke not a squeak, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the brothers; then puked with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the living room he rose.

And I heard him run,
ere he threw out of sight,

“Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night!”

'Twas the ____ Before Christmas

‘Twas the McDonalds before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a blue jay was stirring, not even a mouse.

The flowers were skipping all snug in their beds,
While visions of sushi danced in their heads.

Then out on the backyard there arose such a clatter,
I waited from the couch to see what was the matter.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature book, and seventeen fuzzy reindeer!

With a green old swimmer, so yesterday and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Selena Gomez swam with a bound.

He spoke not a sklidoopie, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the lamps; then ran with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the roof he rose.

And I heard him skate,
ere he jumped out of sight,

“Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night!”

'Twas the ____ Before Christmas

‘Twas the platypus before Christmas, when all through the house
Not an anteater was stirring, not even a mouse.

The beach balls were jumping all snug in their beds,
While visions of mushrooms danced in their heads.

Then out on the park there arose such a clatter,
I ran from the table to see what was the matter.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature keyboard, and nineteen purple reindeer!

With a radiant old tennis player, so quickly and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Carrie Underwood skipped with a bound.

He spoke not a hee-haw, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the towers; then tip-toed with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the wall he rose.

And I heard him write,
ere he watched out of sight,

“Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night!”
