Matched by Allie Condie is a futuristic science fiction book. When a girl turns seventeen, she is matched with a guy who is also seventeen. Society matches them based on given information, such as personality, likes, dislikes and habits. Well, Cassia is matched with someone she knows, Xander, her childhood friend. Normally when two people are matched, they are given microcards to show each other’s information and introduce them to each other, but since they know each other, she puts it off. When she finally does plug it in to view the information, Xander’s face does not show up. Ky Markham’s face does, only, he’s an aberration; he should never have been matched. Who knows what she do? Follow the path and life that Society has chosen, or the one she wants to follow?
