Buckeye Book Awards
Voting is now open for the Buckeye Children’s Book Awards and Teen Buckeye Book Award! The Buckeye Children’s and Teen Book Awards (BCTBA) are among the few readers’ choice awards in which young readers do ALL the nominating as well as all the voting. Take a look at the great books our Ohio students nominated for the 2013 awards:
Voting is open until November 10. Any Ohio child or teen may vote for his or her favorite book from the nominees. The BCTBA website links directly to ballots for all age groups: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and Teen:
Set up a display, encourage your kids to read the nominated books and to VOTE!
The Buckeye Children’s and Teen Book Award program is designed to encourage children in Ohio to read literature critically, to promote teacher and librarian involvement in children's literature programs, and to commend authors of such literature. It was established in 1981 through a collaborative effort of the Ohio Council of the International Reading Association, The Ohio Educational Library Media Association, The Ohio Council of Teachers of English and Language Arts, The Ohio Library Council, and The State Library of Ohio.
