Illustrator Spotlight — Scott Nash

Summer is almost here and we are really excited about our annual Summer Library Program! This month’s spotlight features Collaborative Summer Library Program illustrator Scott Nash.

Mr. Nash has illustrated many books for kids, including Beach Day, The Cat in the Rhinestone Suit, and the picture book version of Flat Stanley. Not only does Mr. Nash illustrate books, he also wrote his own story, The High Skies Adventures of Blue Jay the Pirate,  which he says is a story he wanted to read when growing up.

If Mr. Nash sounds like a busy man, he is! He is the founding partner and creative director of a graphic design studio called Nashbox. This studio is responsible for designing many of the icons and logos we see every day from companies like Nickelodeon, PBS, Disney, and American Girls. In addition, Mr. Nash has taught classes and lectured at different universities, and has helped establish an illustration department at Maine College of Art, where he currently works. And he still had time to create the images for this year’s SLP!

Be sure to come in and check out Mr. Nash’s awesome illustration for SLP! Sign up begins June 3 at all locations. Hope to see you there!
