Crafting with Kids — Beaded Butterfly Suncatchers

Beaded Butterfly Sun Catchers

Summer is a great time to make things with your kids.  Sometimes the ideas are hard to come by, but that’s where we come in!

The library is full of great craft books exploding with terrific ideas.  If you need suggestions, don’t hesitate to ask, and we’ll point you in the direction of our craft section.

Here is an idea for a craft that Miss Melanie did recently.

For a really easy, colorful craft you will need the following materials:

  • Assorted beads
  • 2-3 pipe cleaners
  • Colorful ribbons

And here is how you put it together:

  • Load the pipe cleaners with beads and form two loops (wings) with each.
  • Twist the  wings together and add ribbons.
  • Cut the last pipe cleaner in half and attach as antennae (optional).
  • Find a sunny window and hang with fishing line.

Enjoy this super simple craft that is sure to brighten up any room of your home.

Thanks, Miss Melanie!
