June 2012 Featured Article

Summer’s here again and so is this year’s Summer Library Program (SLP).  We want your children to retain what they’ve learned throughout the school year, so from June 4th through July 28th, we encourage all children from birth through 5th grade to join us.  This summer, we want everyone to read, have fun, and earn prizes, including a free book!

In addition to the reading part of our program, we’d also like to invite you to attend our fantastic in-house programs and come for our world-class performers.  Individual schedules are available at each of the library locations, so be sure to add us to your calendar of things to do this summer.

Want more information?  See the 2012 SLP page on our website.  Here you can find all sorts of information about how the program works, the calendar of events for each location, and you can also find a PDF file for the reading record if you ever need to print one at home.

But what if you’re older than a 5th grader?  Well, you’re in luck, because we also feature a Teen SLP (Own the Night) and an Adult SLP (Between the Covers)!  The process for each is slightly different, but we think you’ll enjoy those programs just as much as the children love ours.  Last year nearly 5,000 children county-wide joined our summer program, and we’d love to beat that number this year!

If you have any questions, just ask!  We can’t wait to see you at the library!
