Art History Resources on the Web Created and maintained by Professor Christopher L.C.E. Whitcombe of Sweet Briar University, this site features examples of art throughout civilized history. Artcyclopedia Known as “the great guide to art on the internet,” this site contains information on famous artists, art movements, and the latest news in the art world. Picturing America Picturing America, an exciting new initiative from the National Endowment for the Humanities, brings masterpieces of American art into classrooms and libraries nationwide. Through this innovative program, students and citizens will gain a deeper appreciation of our country’s history and character through the study and understanding of its art. Mansfield/Richland County Public Library received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and these posters and teaching materials are available for checkout. |
