eBooks, eAudiobooks, and M/RCPL
Does the Library Have eBooks?
M/RCPL is a member of The Ohio eBook Project, a statewide service which gives library users access to thousands of audiobooks, eBooks, music, and video/movies on a compatible device. Items may also be downloaded from the SEO Library Consortium using a valid M/RCPL library card.
How Do I Download eBooks?
Go to the Ohio eBook Project website or SEO Library Consortium and click sign in. Next, select Mansfield/Richland County Public Library on the pulldown menu, then enter a valid library card and PIN number (NOTE: If you do not have a PIN number, you may get one in person or by calling any of our locations. You will need your library card to get a PIN number by any method.)
Once you've signed in, use the search feature to browse available titles. You can add yourself to the waiting list (much like the M/RCPL catalog,) add an item to your cart, or download it directly to your device. (NOTE: Downloading procedures may vary according to MP3 Player/eReader.)
How Do I Know if My MP3 Player/eReader is Compatible?
The majority of MP3 players (including iPods) are compatible, but due to issues with Digital Rights Management (DRM), some eReaders are not.
Compatible eReaders include the Apple iPad, Barnes and Noble Nook, and Amazon Kindle. To see a complete list of compatible MP3 players and test your device, click here. To view a complete list of compatible eReaders, click here.
