Crafting With Kids: Pinecone Spiders
This month's craft idea comes from Miss Melanie at Main Library! Miss Melanie made pinecone spiders at her Make & Take craft program this past Monday. These cute and easy spiders are great for fall and Halloween decorating!
Here is what you need to get started:
Glue (Miss Melanie used Tacky Glue)
First, you will want to give your pinecone spider some legs. You will need four pipe cleaners for each spider to make a total of eight legs. Wrap each pipe cleaner one at a time around your pinecone, making sure to space them out and press each down between the pinecone scales. Shape each leg to help your spider stand.
Glue some wiggly eyes onto the flat bottom part of your pinecone. You can glue on two eyes or many. Spiders typically have eight eyes, just like they have eight legs. You can find pictures of spiders to help you place your eyes.
And there you have it, your very own pinecone spider! Thanks for sharing this fun craft with us, Miss Melanie!
