Happy Birthday, Eric Rohmann!

October 26, 2015

Today we celebrate Eric Rohmann's birthday!

Author of the 2003 Caldecott-winning title My Friend, Rabbit, Eric has shared his talent for many years.  Other titles like Pumpkinhead, A Kitten Tale, and Bone Dog have become seasonal go-to favorites for many librarians and parents.

As a young child, Eric Rohmann developed his talent by copying and drawing (he says was not much of a reader, but he saw the world in images).  Later, he began using pictures and words together to tell his stories.  After refining his artistic process while teaching bookmaking to children, Eric wrote his fist book, Time Flies, a wordless picture book that traces the evolution of dinosaurs from their bird relatives.  It won a Caldecott Honor in 1999

More recently, Eric has paired with author Candace Fleming to give us Oh, No! in 2012 and Bulldozer's Big Day this year.  Check our catalog for all of his other titles.
