Spring Is Here!

March 20, 2015

Today is the first day of spring! Also know as the Spring Equinox, March 20th brings warmer temperatures, the return of songbirds, longer days, and tiny green plants poking out of the brown earth.

Here at the library, we have many books to help celebrate spring! Two great books to welcome spring are And Then It's Spring by Julie Fogliano and Wake Up, It's Spring! by Lisa Campbell Ernst. The Pebble Plus series "All About Spring", with bright photos and easy to read text, are also great for welcoming spring. And we can't forget one of the cutest parts of spring--all the baby animals! Lauren Thompson's "Wee Little" trio make the perfect books to share!

Activity Village has a great selection of spring crafts, games, coloring pages, and more, and you can find even more things like recipes, poems, and printables to help you welcome spring at DLTK. After the harsh winter we had, you may even want to throw a spring garden party! Or just do an activity to celebrate spring. However you choose to ring in the spring, be sure to soak up some sunshine and read a good book!

Happy Spring!
