Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

March 2, 2015

Today is the 111th anniversary of the birth of a boy named Ted Geisel, better known to you and me as Dr. Seuss!  It's also Read Across America Day, and the two are fantastic reasons to celebrate books and reading.

The Seussville website has a plethora of awesome resources that you can print off and do at home with your family.  From lesson plans for specific books and units on poetry to printable activities like mazes and matching games, you can find everything you need to celebrate all things Dr. Seuss.

We've got fun things planned throughout the week at the library so you can help us celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday, too.  Come make yourself a striped Cat hat or a Lorax-inspired mustache.  We've also got some laminated activity pages you can complete and a giant birthday card to write on to extend your own birthday wishes to the creator of so many beloved characters.

See you at the library!
