'Twas the Night Before Christmas
If ever there was a beloved Christmas poem that is known by adults and children alike, it would have to be Clement C. Moore's classic 'Twas the Night Before Christmas (originally titled A Visit from St. Nicholas). This poem is still read today as a traditional part of the Christmas season in the United States and throughout the world.
Here at the library we've got over a dozen different versions of this popular Christmas poem, each featuring illustrations by different artists. From the traditional telling of The Night Before Christmas, by Christian Birmingham, to the less traditional Nurse's Night Before Christmas by David Davis and William Wegman's The Night Before Christmas showcasing photographs of dogs, there are many unique renditions of this Christmas classic.
So gather your family together and read through Clement C. Moore's enduring Christmas Eve poem tonight to get everyone ready for tomorrow's festivities. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas from all of us at the Library!
