SLP 2014 Begins
Summer is officially here at the Library! We’ve begun our 8-week program full of reading, prizes, programs, performers, and lots and lots of fun. The Summer Library Program (SLP) has something to offer people of all ages; children birth through 6th grade can do the Children’s program, teenagers can do the Teen program, and adults can do the Adult program. So whether you “Fizz Boom Read”, “Spark a Reaction”, or enjoy “Literary Elements” this summer, there’s a whole lot for everyone to do at the library!
This week we’re focusing on signing children up for the SLP, and we also have a scavenger hunt that children can do to earn a small prize. Next week we will welcome cartoonist Jeff Nicholas who will share his “It’s Scientoonic!” program while entertaining us with his original illustrations. We also begin our weekly staff programs, which are available at the Main Library and all branch locations. Check the schedule to see what is available.
The following weeks will bring comedian and juggler Matt Jergens, GRAMMY-nominated recording artist Zak Morgan, Jungle Terry with his live animal friends, yo-yo genius Jake Maloney, and magician Dave Lehman. No sign up is needed for these programs; you can find the performer schedule on our website. Come and enjoy what we have to offer where it’s cool, free, and the place to be all summer long!
