2014 SLP Kick-Off

April 25, 2014

Yes, we know that spring has just (barely) arrived, but we’re already getting ready for summer!  Our Summer Library Program (SLP) theme for 2014 for children is “Fizz, Boom, Read!”  For teens the theme is “Spark a Reaction,” and for adults it is “Literary Elements.”  We are so excited to share this with our customers, because we LOVE the yearly Summer Library Program!

Our summer plans are in full swing, and we’ve got some great programs, performers, and activities scheduled.  Covering topics like weather, science experiments, water, sound, illusions, stinky stuff, simple machines, and animals, we are sure you’ll find something to interest your children this summer.  And while we do encourage and promote reading, we have plenty of fun, too!

On Saturday, April 26th, from 11 AM to 3 PM, we welcome children, teens, and adults to the Main Library to join us for a sneak preview of the 2014 Summer Library Program.  Featuring the mobile digital Dome Theater, as an audience, you’ll literally be in the middle of museum-quality science-based shows with offerings like the “Night of the Titanic” and “Earth’s Wild Ride.”

We’ll also have experiments, crafts, information tables, games, giveaways, a StoryWalk, and much more.  Don’t miss out on the fun!
