2009 Stories on Film – Teen Video Contest

Tell Your Story“Stories on Film” is the Teen and Young Adult Film Festival
portion of the Southern Ohio Storytelling Arts and Music Festival.

“Stories on Film” will give away one $50.00 cash prize to the film or video chosen as “Best in Show,” along with three $25.00 cash prizes for First Place winners in three different divisions: Younger Teen (for ages 12-15); Older Teen (ages 16-19); and Young Adult (ages 20-23).

Films judged as outstanding will be screened publicly as part of the 2009 Southern Ohio Storytelling Arts and Music Festival, September 11 and 12, 2009, in historic Chillicothe, Ohio.

All that is needed are family-friendly films and videos up to ten minutes long. The films can be posted online at youtube.com or burned to DVD and mailed to:

by the contest deadline of May 29, 2009.

Teen Contests at M/RCPL

Art Contest
This annual fall contest is open to anyone in grades 6-12 who would like to submit art in any of the following categories: drawing-pencil/ink, drawing-colored pencils/pastels, painting, sculpture, and other. 

Photography Contest
This contest, held annually in January, features photos in three categories: people, places, and pets. 

Poetry Contest
During the month of March submit your best poem for this annual contest.  The Teen Advisory Board will judge the contest and announce the winners in April, just in time for National Poetry Month.

Short Story Contest
Watch for this annual contest in the first issue of the Teen Advisory Board Newsletter.  The Teen Advisory Board will start the story, and you finish it.
