Diary of a Wimpy KidAre you funnier than Jeff Kinney, author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid?  PROVE IT!  Enter the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Do-It-Yourself Comics Contest by creating an original comic on one side of an 8 ½” x 11” piece of white paper.  Entries must be posted by January 31, 2009.  You could win a visit to your school from Jeff Kinney, a “Wimpify Your Family” original comic, and much more!  Check out the complete contest details here.

Coloring Isn't Just for Kids Contest

Who: Anyone in Grades 6 - 12
What: Coloring Our Geometric Design
When: Saturday, November 1 - Saturday, November 29
Where: Colored designs may be dropped off at any M/RCPL location
Rules: '  Designs must be colored with either
           markers or colored pencils.
'  Only one entry may be entered per            person.
Prizes: Each M/RCPL location will choose one winner to receive a $25.00 gift card to Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts. Winners will be chosen by Friday, December 5, and prizes may be picked up the following week.
Application: Applications may be picked up at any Library location or may be downloaded and printed on you home printer. Requires Adobe PDF

Art Contest
This annual fall contest is open to anyone in grades 6-12 who would like to submit art in any of the following categories: drawing-pencil/ink, drawing-colored pencils/pastels, painting, sculpture, and other. 

Photography Contest
This contest, held annually in January, features photos in three categories: people, places, and pets. 

Poetry Contest
During the month of March submit your best poem for this annual contest.  The Teen Advisory Board will judge the contest and announce the winners in April, just in time for National Poetry Month.

Short Story Contest
Watch for this annual contest in the first issue of the Teen Advisory Board Newsletter.  The Teen Advisory Board will start the story, and you finish it.
