Fairy Tale
Life is not a fairy tale.
There is no happy ending.
Poisoned apples are poisoned apples,
And the witch doesn't want ruby shoes.
To prick a finger on a spindle
And fall into an endless sleep,
She must have had hemophilia.
I wonder if the comatose have dreams.
To just happen upon a magic being
So nice,
So kind,
So sweet.
Something had to be owed
For their small deeds.
For every wondering maiden
To be a princess in disguise
Every single servant and peasant
Had to have been blind.
The glass slipper always fits,
Especially when you've cut off a toe or two.
And to fall in love after one kiss,
Well, whatever works for you.
Life is not a fairy tale,
But one thing is true.
There is a Prince Charming out there
Looking for you.

A Letter from Heaven
My Dear Loved Ones,
How I wish you all appeared a bit more cheerful.
My heart's desire is to brush a smile upon your face.
I understand you're grieving, but please don't do
it in sorrow
For I am happier now that I am with the supplier of
all grace.
Please don't cry tears of gloom; there is no reason.
I ask that all you would cry are tears of jubilee,
Because I have concluded the chapter of suffering
and pain.
But if you must cry, shed only tears of joy for me.
Shed a tear of excitement, for God has healed me!
He has raised me from my sickbed, made me whole all
together!
Now I walk with Him on the golden streets, hand in
hand.
God is the Almighty, the Healer, and the gracious
Father.
Shed a tear of happiness, for I am gleefully smiling.
There is nothing that may crush my spirits or bring
me down.
My soul is always at harmony, sweet fellowship with
Christ.
He is my very best friend, the One whom I crown.
Shed a tear of wonder at how this all may happen,
Because even I had doubted once that this was actually
true.
So listen carefully to everything that I have to say
If you doubt at all just one thing that I recount
you.
On earth I was your loved one, and you saw what I
had to go through,
But there was a hope that was harbored in me in the
very depths of my soul.
That hope was Jesus himself that allowed me to never
give up.
He alone was my solid, firm stronghold, the One who
made me whole!
Even though I stumbled during my time on earth,
Jesus picked me up, brushed me off, and granted me
eternal life!
He held my hand through the trials, assuring me I
was going to a better place,
For now I dwell in the haven of rest, never again
to know any strife!

Bliss
What happiness I find in a quiet, summer day,
Sleeping in the shade of a strong, wise tree.
It breathes deeply, slowly,
Weaving sweet dreams into my mind free of cares,
Because in this season, time is immeasurable.
This is bliss.
A warm breeze softly whispers its secrets to me,
And the earth sings in the wind
Which stirs the verdant, lush leaves above
And invites them to join in on its journey
To no place in particular.
This is bliss.
From the forest filled with life
Where a merry stream chuckles as it travels far,
Caressing mossy pebbles on its way
To the open meadow
Where field mice scamper and vibrant flowers flourish.
This is bliss.
Driving with the windows down,
The smell of a smoky bonfire where families gather
Or simply napping in a welcoming hammock
With a consoling book at my side
As the setting sun blankets me with cozy, rose-colored
rays.
This is bliss.
