My family owns many animals including: horse, dogs, cats, gerbils, and rabbits. I like cats the most; my favorite cat is my Siamese cat, named Creepers. I have other interests including computers and video games. My favorite television shows are Lost and Mythbusters. Probably two of my most favorite authors would have to be C. S. Lewis and Edgar Allan Poe. I am also planning to attend Ashland University this fall.
Book Review
Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony
by Eoin Colfer
(Check Catalog)
I recently read the book Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony. I really liked the book. As usual, Artemis is somehow involving himself with the fairies, but in this book, he also gets involved with imps, demons, and warlocks. He drags Butler, his bodyguard, into his scheme and helps to save the Lost Colony. The demons dimension, also called the Lost Colony, is starting to drift out of its place. The only way to save the colony is to have a warlock, but the only problem is trying to find out. Artemis, with the help of some fairies, namely Holly Short, gets involved in this exciting adventure. If you are a fan of this series of books, you will love this one.

Movie Review
Bridge to Terabithia
(Check Catalog)
Bridge to Terabithia is the movie that is based on Katherine Paterson’s book by the same name. The story is about Jess Aarons and Leslie Burke and the imaginary world they create together called Terabithia. They both come from very different backgrounds and form an unlikely friendship. I thought that the movie was pretty good. It combined several elements including: making new friends, showing kindness to bullies, and simply having an imagination. Jess came from a family that had very little money, but he was happy. He loved to draw, and all that he needed was a paper and a pencil to let his imagination soar. The movie is geared more toward a younger audience, but it can be enjoyed by all ages. |
