Fax From Sarajevo: A
Story of Survival.
by Joe Kubert
After
the Holocaust happened, many people said something like that could
never happen again in today's civilized world. right? wrong. During
the early nineties in Sarajevo, ethnic cleansing took place again.
Fax From Sarajevo tells the story of Edwin and his family's efforts
to escape Sarajevo, and the repeated disappointments they receive
as all other counties refuse to accept refugees from the war-torn
area.
When war broke out in Sarajevo, Ervin Rustemagic and his family
found themselves trapped in a city under siege with the only contact
to the outside world being a fax machine. When comics creator
Joe Kubert began to receive his friend Ervin's messages, he saw
a story unfolding-a story of survival-and put it to paper.
