Commercial databases that have been purchased by the Mansfield / Richland County Public Library and can only be used from a networked computer inside the Main Library or one of our branch libraries.

1. Access Science
   AccessScience provides the finest collection of science reference materials—online and fully searchable. We offer easy accessibility to the information you need to make research easy—with access to all the articles, fully illustrated.
   
2. All EBSCOhost Databases
   EBSCOhost is a powerful online reference system accessible via the Internet. It offers a variety of proprietary full text databases and popular databases from leading information providers. The comprehensive databases range from general reference collections to specially designed, subject-specific databases for public, academic, medical, corporate and school libraries.
   
   
3. Annals of American History Online
   Documents in the Annals reveal a complete historical landscape: government, foreign relations, business, war, the arts, family life, and religion. Use these selections to round out background knowledge, stimulate discussion, and provoke original thought for research. Media in the Annals include images, video, and audio clips.
   
   
4. Art & Architecture Database
   The AMICO Art Museum Image Library is a growing collection of digital multimedia documenting works of art in the collections of dozens of art museums, representing works from cultures around the world, from prehistoric to contemporary times.
   
   
5. Biographies Plus Illustrated
   Wilson Biographies Plus Illustrated contains more than 111,000 biographies and obituaries and more than 32,000 photographs of the subjects.

   SIRS Discoverer® is an award-winning database designed with the young researcher in mind. This interactive tool strengthens research, reading, writing and computer skills. Articles and graphics from more than 1,400 U.S. and international magazines, newspapers and U.S. government documents are carefully selected for their educational content, interest and level of readability.

   Encyclopædia Britannica Online includes the complete encyclopedia, as well as Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus, Britannica Student Encyclopedia and the Britannica Book of the Year. You can also use Encyclopædia Britannica Online to search an Internet directory that includes more than 300,000 links to Web sites selected, rated, and reviewed by Britannica editors.

    Ohio Capital Connection is a legislative and government information service for the state of Ohio. The Ohio Capital Connection index contains Ohio legislative information including the text and status of Ohio bills and any related committee reports and analyses.

    Oxford Reference Online
    The Core Collection contains about 100 dictionary, language reference, and subject reference works published by Oxford University Press. It is a fully-indexed, cross-searchable database of these books, giving subscribers unprecedented access to a comprehensive information resource.
    
    
17. Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps
    Digital Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps have been licensed for use by Ohio citizens by the Ohio Public Library Information Network. These Sanborn Maps were digitized from microfilm copies by Chadwyck-Healey, a Bell & Howell Information and Learning company.
    
    
18. Ohioana Library
    Ohioana’s current holdings include over 40,000 books, 10,000 pieces of sheet music, scrapbooks and biographical files on more than 20,000 Ohio writers, artists, musicians and other notable Ohioans. The books are written by Ohioans, or are about Ohio or Ohioans.
