Fingerplays/Songs

Wake Up

Wake up, wake up, little sleepy heads
(call to the fingers of one hand curled loosely in palm)
Wake up, wake up, jump out of your beds.
(straighten fingers)
Brush your teeth
(make brushing motions)
And comb you locks.
(comb hair)
Wash your faces
(rub face with hands)
And put on your socks.
(Touch feet)
Are you ready?  It's half past eight.
(point to wrist, as if indicating watch)
Run to school.  Now don't be late.
(run fingers.  Shake one finger)

Good Night

One fluffy quilt for my bed
(hold up 1 finger)
Two little pillows for my head
(hold up 2 fingers)
Three teddy bears to hold on tight
(hold up 3 fingers)
Four kisses from my mom for a restful night
(kiss hand 4 times)
Five hugs from my dad
(hug self 5 times)
And off goes my light!
Good Night!

Too Many in the Bed (sing or chant)

There were three in the bed (hold up three fingers)
And the little one said
"Roll over, roll over"
So they all moved over
And one fell out.

There were two in the bed (hold up two fingers)
And the little one said
"Roll over, roll over"
So they all moved over
And one fell out.

Continue until one finger is left
There was one in the bed (hold up pinky)
And the little one said
"Good Night" (place hand to head and pretend to sleep)
