Upon finding a flower pot containing a tiny green shoot, a little girl tries to encourage the plant to grow by feeding it pizza and chocolate chip cookies, but when it still won't grow and bloom, she throws it out the door.
Horn Book Guide Reviews 2000 Fall (HG0B)
Fran finds a flowerpot with a tiny shoot peeking out and wants to see it grow. She tries to feed it pizza and ice cream but nothing happens. Frustrated, Fran throws it outside, never noticing the elements' effects on the abandoned pot until she's greeted by its beautiful flower. Although the story is slight, cheery pastels illustrate familiar feelings of frustration and joy. Copyright 2000 Horn Book Guide Reviews
