Vacationing in Ohio

If you’re like every other hard working family in America, you’re probably thinking that you can’t afford a vacation this year.  But what if you stayed at home and made day trips to take advantage of all the fun things the great state of Ohio has to offer?

Some things to do might include

  • Visiting a zoo or nature preserve
  • Spending the day at an amusement park
  • Hiking in a state park
  • Hitting the beach at Lake Erie
  • Traveling through Amish country
  • Satisfying scientific curiosity at COSI or the Great Lakes Science Center
  • Exploring an Ohio cavern
  • Staying at a local hotel and swimming in the pool
  • Going camping at an area campground

Sure, gas is expensive, but because you’re staying at home, you save on lodging.  You could plan one or two trips per month, or combine them all for a week-long vacation.  Packing your own lunch rather than eating out would save even more on the cost.

To find a “one tank trip” of your own, see:

all of which are available at the library.
