Dancing Tin Can Man

This is a great way to recycle those old cans into a jangly marionette or a useful scarecrow for your garden.

You will need:

A large coffee can for the body,
Assorted smaller cans for the head, arms, and legs
(pop and soup cans work great!)
Aluminum pie pan for a hat
Hammer
Punch or two sizes of nails for making holes
Old shoe laces or worn out rope pieces
Permanent markers

Working on the floor, use hammer and nails to punch a hole in the center of the bottom of each can and two holes in the sides of the big one where the arms will attach.

For each arm and leg, tie a knot in one end of rope and thread through cans. Thread the arm ropes into the sides of the big can. Tie arm ropes together and tie the leg ropes onto the arm ropes. Fasten head in the same way and leave a long piece at the top for hanging. Draw face on head with permanent markers. Each one of the finished products has its own personality.
