Celebrating Libraries
According to Chase's Calendar of Events, February 1st is "Hula in the Coola" Day. It's a day for those longing to escape the winter doldrums to laugh at the cold with a luau party; a day to put away your winter coats, get out your shorts and flip-flops, play limbo and say, "Aloha!"
February is also Library Lovers' Month, and is a time for everyone, especially library support groups, to recognize the value of libraries and to work to ensure that the nation's libraries will continue to serve.
If you use school, public, or private libraries of all types, then show your support by attending programs during the month of February, culminating in a library luau celebration at the end of the month.
Library Lovers' Month
Ways to show your love for the library include promoting, volunteering, supporting fund raising, and contributing in other ways. Check out the links to find more specific ways you can show how much you love your library.
Library Luau:
February 23 (Sat.) Main, 11am
February 25 (Mon.) Ont., 6pm
It's cold outside, but it's warm in here -- come join us for some Hawaiian sunshine and cheer. We'll have games, stories and music, too, but it won't be a luau without you. Aloha!
