Escape to Freedom
Monday September 29, 2008
6:30 PM
Born in a small town in what is now Serbia, area resident Alwine Stull will share the story of her escape to freedom. Her German ancestors settled there in 1784 and lived peacefully with the people of the region. At the end of WWII, her people, known as the Donauschwaben, were either dispersed or forced to live in inhuman conditions. This is the tale of how Stull’s family made their way to the US.
