Call your local library one week in advance
to request a selection of books to check out
for your classroom.
To be eligible for a
Teacher Card:
You
must teach in a Richland County School
(with the exception of Shelby)
- You must have a valid M/RCPL Library
Card
- Your Library Card must be in good standing
To apply for a Teacher
Card:
- Bring your Library Card and another form
of identification
- Bring the Teacher Card coupon, found on
a brochure that is sent to schools every fall, early in the school year.
- Bring two forms of identification, one with
your current address if you do not have a
valid M/RCPL Library Card
The following items can
be checked out for 6 weeks on a Teacher Card
(with no renewals):
- Books
- Music CDs
- Audio Books on Tape
- CD-ROMs
These
items can be checked out for only 1 weeks on
a Teacher Card:
- Informational and Entertainment Videos
- Informational DVDs
These
items cannot be checked out on a Teacher Card:
- Entertainment DVDs
- Audio Books on CD
Fines will be charged for overdue materials.
The replacement fee for up to two books may
be waived, but you will need to pay for any
audio-visual materials that are lost. Let

and school librarians three or four times during
the school year. BookNews details happenings
at the Library, new services or materials and
information from professional journals that
is of interest to educations. If you would like
to receive BookNews by email, send your name,
email address, and the name of your school to booknews@mrcpl.org.
